About Pimlico Puffins
The Pimlico Puffins swimming club is a voluntary organisation that helps people with disabilities
to learn to swim, or improve their swimming and to have fun and
gain confidence in the water. There are currently more than 30 swimmers
of all ages.
Backed by Westminster City Council, we have the use of both pools at the Queen Mother Sports Centre on Vauxhall Bridge Road,
close to Victoria station, every Monday night at 7.45pm (except
bank holidays), when the pool is closed to the public. We swim from 8pm until 9pm and enjoy a chat over
a drink of ribena until 9.30pm at which time we go home for a well
earned rest.
Limited transport to the pool from addresses within the borough of Westminster is sometimes available. Priority will be given to those whose mobility or general ability to travel is significantly impaired.

The puffins club prides itself on a friendly atmosphere and a flexible
approach to swimming and learning. We are always keen to receive
new swimmers - it doesn't matter what standard you are - we have
the use of the shallow pool as well as the main pool.
We are equally delighted to hear from volunteers who are interested
in helping us with everything from helping swimmers in the pool,
to assisting with transport, to fundraising. If you are interested
in swimming or helping, please contact us in one of the following
